Packages

A package is the packaged automation you publish from the Designer: a .zoan file with its playbooks and the activities it uses, at a specific version. Processes point to a package and a version, and that is what runs on the machines.

Packages belong to the whole organization: you see them under Centro › Paquetes (Center › Packages) from any environment, and each environment decides through its processes which version to use.

Each package shows its Plataforma (Platform), its Última versión (Latest version), when it was Publicada (Published) and by whom, and how many Procesos (Processes) use it. Filter by name or description, by Plataforma and by Uso (Usage: Lo usa algún proceso, used by a process, or Sin procesos, no processes) to quickly find what is in production and what nobody uses any more.

PlatformWhere it runs
WindowsUses the desktop: runs on a Windows machine with the Agent.
Sin pantalla · Linux (Headless)Needs no desktop: runs on Zoan Cloud or on any machine.

Usually you publish from the Designer: it creates or updates the package, uploads the version and leaves it Published in a single step, after checking that all its activities are available in your organization. See Publish and version.

You can also do it from the portal:

  1. If the package doesn’t exist, click Nuevo paquete (New package), type the Nombre (Name), the Código (Code: lowercase letters, numbers, hyphen or underscore) and, optionally, a description, and click Crear paquete (Create package).
  2. Open the package and click Subir versión (Upload version) with the .zoan file. The version is saved as a Borrador (Draft).
  3. Click Publicar (Publish) on that version when you want processes to be able to use it.

Each version must be higher than the latest published one and cannot repeat. The detail lists every version with its status, notes, checksum and date.

Eliminar (Delete) removes the package with all its versions and frees its space. If a process uses it, the option is unavailable: switch those processes to another package or delete them first.
